Abstract:
|
The author replies to the paper by Hussain (IEEE Trans. Signal Processing, vol. 52, no.1, p.287-90, 2004) which commented on the paper by Barkat and Boashash (IEEE Trans. Signal Processing, vol.49, p.2232-9, 2001). The points raised by Hussain are considered one at a time. |

Description:
|
This paper is a reply to some comments that were made about the original paper given in the title that proposed a high-resolution TFD for multicomponent signals. The replies to the comments are useful in terms of clarifying the criteria used for the design of multicomponent signals.
(Additional details can be found in the comprehensive book on Time-Frequency Signal Analysis and Processing (see http://www.elsevier.com/locate/isbn/0080443354).
In addition, the most recent upgrade of the original software package that calculates Time-Frequency Distributions and Instantaneous Frequency estimators can be downloaded from the web site: www.time-frequency.net. This was the first software developed in the field, and it was first released publicly in 1987 at the 1st ISSPA conference held in Brisbane, Australia, and then continuously updated). |
