Abstract:
|
Time-frequency signal analysis (TFSA) tools find important applications to many fields
including radar, sonar, geophysics and biomedicine. Their use is motivated by the fact
that the time-frequency representation of a non-stationary signal often provides valuable
insight and information over and above more traditional analysis methods which assume
stationarity. In this paper, we describe a software package which has been developed to
analyse non-stationary signals using TFSA tools. |
|
Description:
|
This paper described the first time-frequency Matlab toolbox; this TFSA software analysis package is able to analyse the class of non-stationary signals. This was first released in 1987, and since then continuously updated.
(Additional details can be found in the comprehensive book on Time-Frequency Signal Analysis and Processing (see http://www.elsevier.com/locate/isbn/0080443354).
In addition, the most recent upgrade of the original software package that calculates Time-Frequency Distributions and Instantaneous Frequency estimators can be downloaded from the web site: www.time-frequency.net. This was the first software developed in the field, and it was first released publicly in 1987 at the 1st ISSPA conference held in Brisbane, Australia, and then continuously updated). |
