This study aims to know the direct and indirect effects of parental in¬volvement, homework, hours of watching T.V., family environmental vari¬ables and personality traits on scholastic achievement for a sample of 2nd graders from two secondary schools totaling 85 female students whose ages mean is 17.68 yrs. A questionnaire measuring parental involvement, homework and T.V. watching was used in addition to Family Environment Scale, as translated by the first author, Step-wise regression was used to calculate path coefficients. Results show that there are significant direct and indirect effects for 5 family variables, 4 personality traits, parental in¬volvement, homework and T.V. watching on achievement. |
