This study aims at investigating the effect of writing on phonological analysis of Arab grammarians, in the light of modern linguistic and semiotic studies, which determine the fact that the language and writing are separated systems.
Considering this fact, the study provides evidences from the classical Arabic grammar showing that mixing the spoken and the written makes Arab grammarians misunderstand the Arabic phonology.
This miss understanding results in problems in the levels of Phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and discourse according to the researcher. Therefore, the study encourages the researchers to study the effect of writing on different linguistic levels. Moreover, the study contains other important results |
