dc.description.abstract This paper presents the description and simulation of a new proposed arrangement of RLD/RCD snubber circuit used with pulse width modulated voltage source inverter. The new arrangement allows minimizing the number of active elements of RCD with 50%. This will help the designer to reduce the size of the system. SPICE programming package is used as principal simulation tool. A detailed simulation given that includes the sever effects of snubber diode reverse recovery current, as well as, the effect of the stray inductance of D.C rails. Some results of a typical practical example are compared with their corresponding SPICE traces, in order to check the validity of the simulation results. en_US
