dc.description.abstract The study aimed at identifying the relationship between the curiosity and creative abilities and characteristics with respect to family environmental variables. The study was carried out on 166 fifth and sixth primary students using the measure of curiosity prepared by Ahmed Abbada and Farooq Othman (1991). And also the test of Children Creative Thinking (part two) prepared by Sayed Khairallah and Mahmood Mansy. The findings revealed that a significant relationship exists between curiosity and flexibility, originality, creative abilities, perception of relationship between parents, various desires and commitment. As far as the relationship between curiosity and number of family members and the rank of the student in his family is concerned, the results showed that there is a significant positive relationship between these two variables and the mother's and father's educational level. Also significant differences have been found between two rate of curiosity of rural and urban students in favour of the urban ones.
