AbstractIn reference to the article (SARS-CoV-2 in Atmospheric Particulate Matter: An Experimental Survey in the Province of Venice in Northern Italy) published in the Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health in August 2022, we thank the authors (Pivato et al., 2022) for their valuable work and we would like to share our point of view on the article. Regarding the evidenced link connecting the levels of atmospheric particulate matter (PM) with SARS-CoV-2 prevalence, we would like to seize this opportunity to highlight the impact of (PM) on speeding the COVID-19 incidence from a closer perspective by focusing on the non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) such as small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) and how this may enhance the viral activity of SARS-CoV-2.
