Abstract
This chapter discusses the importance of growing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) as a major public health hazard on a global scale. It underscores the role of dental professionals in controlling AMR through judicious use of antimicrobials in clinical dental settings. The common drivers and mechanisms of AMR are discussed followed by guidelines on tackling AMR in clinical dental settings. The readers are signposted to useful online resources on controlling AMR along with resources which may be used for patient education.
