AbstractThis paper presents an implementation of advanced encryption standard (AES) for secure wireless image transmission. Wi-Fi is used as the wireless communication medium due to low-cost and high data rate transfer features. NI myRIO board equipped with the Zync-7010 devices has been used as a transmitter and computer as a receiver. The image being captured encrypted and transmitted securely via Wi-Fi. On the reception, the images are decrypted and display on the graphical user interface (GUI) designed using LabVIEW 2017 software. The implementation of AES has been evaluated with three (3) different types of input parameter with different image sizes (160 ? 120, 320 ? 240, and 640 ? 480, key length (key-128, key-192 and key-256) and implementation platform (NI myRIO and computer). With these three (3) different input parameter, time execution recorded and analysed. Results shows, the incremental of time execution is directly proportional to the incremental of image size, key length and speed of the implementation platform. ? 2018 IEEE.
