| Abstract | ينافش هذا البحث ظاهرة الاستعلاء في الخطاب الغربي. ومدى تأثيره في الحوار الحضاري مع الآخر المختلف. ولتشخيص هذه الظاهرة وفهم أبعادها لابد من فهم المرجعيات الفكرية للمركزية الأوروبية خاصة وأن خطاب المركزية هو الذي ساهم في ظاهرة الاستعلاء. نظراً لما يحمله الخطاب من روح عدائية للآخر المختلف عنه؛ والنظر إليه كما لو أنه تحت سلم الحضارة الإنسانية، وبالخصوص المجتمعات الإسلامية. ولقد تجسدت استعلائية الغرب في تنصيب نفسه المنتج الأوحد للقيم الإنسانية، والمرجع الأوحد في تقسيم الثقافات والشعوب إلى شعوب متخلفة وأخرى ارتقت عبر مدارج الإنسانية وصولاً إلى المدنية. إن خطاب المركزية الأوروبية هو المسؤول عن هذه الظاهرة بسبب ما ينتجه خطابه موقع الوصاية لما يملكه من قوة معرفية وثقافية وعسكرية ومادية. كما عمل من خلال مؤسساته ومراكزه الفكرية على تقديم صورة مشوهة للإسلام وحضارته بكل مكوناتها لإجهاض مضامينها التي لا تتناسب مع معايير حضارته، ومن ثم العمل من أجل صياغة إسلام جديد يتوافق مع قيمه الليبرالية. |

| Alternative Abstract | This research discusses the phenomenon of Western supremacy discourse, and the extent of its influence on the civilizational dialogue with the different ‘other’. In order to analyze this phenomenon and understand its dimensions, one must understand the intellectual origins of Eurocentrism, especially since the discourse of centralism is the one that contributed to the phenomenon of supremacy, given the hostile spirit that the speech carries against the different ‘other’. This viewpoint considers those who are different, especially Muslim societies, as backward and uncivilized. This western supremacy is embodied in establishing itself as the sole producer of human values and ethics. This attitude appears in the way the West proposes itself as the sole reference for classifying various cultures and peoples into backward nations and others that are progressing towards civilized societies. Therefore, the Eurocentrism discourse is accountable for this phenomenon because of the stereotyping discourse it produces concerning the ‘other’. This trend of thinking tends to distort the image of other cultures and societies in preparation for their domination and control; a paternalist attitude, which is due to the cultural, military and material power the West, possesses. Through its various institutions and intellectual centers, the West tend to present a misleading image of Islam and its civilization with all its components to abort its contents that do not fit the standards of its civilization. This happens in hope that Western powers generate a new Islam that is compatible with their liberal values. |
