Abstract | This Article focuses on the legal aspects of regulating remote work in light of Qatari law and some selected comparative models. Employment contracts in many of their applications have shifted to remote work or work using electronic means. The current enforcement of employment contracts has placed the international labor market in the face of many difficult choices, particularly in light of the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, associated government actions and diverse sectoral responses. This Article addresses these current developments and concludes with a set of findings and recommendations focusing on strengthening the governing legal framework for remote work, effective enforcement of employment contracts, enhancing the protection of rights of the remote worker, and proposing a legal regulation of remote work to ensure a properly regulated working relationship. |
