Optical biosensor based on ultrathin SOI waveguides
(
Optica Publishing Group (formerly OSA)
, 2020 , Conference Paper)
We introduce an optical biosensor utilizing the MMI configuration and based on the ultrathin SOI platform. The biosensor was optimized using finite difference time domain simulations. A sensitivity of 420 nm/RIU was achieved.
Optimized intake manifold designs and their effects on the operation and emissions of a gas-to-liquid diesel engine
(
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
, 2020 , Conference Paper)
Two simultaneous strategies have been used in this work to reduce the diesel engine emissions. First, using novel manifold designs to generate strong turbulence and improve the fuel-air mixing inside the cylinder. The ...
A Malware Detection Method for Health Sensor Data Based on Machine Learning
(
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.
, 2020 , Conference Paper)
Traditional signature-based malware detection approaches are sensitive to small changes in the malware code. Currently, most malware programs are adapted from existing programs. Hence, they share some common patterns but ...
A Natural User Interface and Blockchain-Based In-Home Smart Health Monitoring System
(
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.
, 2020 , Conference Paper)
In this paper, we propose a gesture-based secure interaction system with smart home IoT health devices to support elderly people or people with special needs. The framework uses a decentralized blockchain consensus for ...
Lightweight IoT Malware Detection Solution Using CNN Classification

Reverse Osmosis (RO) is an evolving membrane-based technology for water desalination that started to gain increased popularity in the light of the increased global water demand due its high efficiency and low carbon ...
Distributed Framework via Block-chain Smart Contracts for Smart Grid Systems against Cyber-Attacks
(
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.
, 2020 , Conference Paper)
In this century, the demand for energy is increasing daily, and the need for energy resources has become urgent and inevitable. New ways of generating energy, such as renewable resources that depend on many sources, including ...
A Testbed Implementation of a Biometric Identity-Based Encryption for IoMT-enabled Healthcare System
(
Association for Computing Machinery
, 2021 , Conference Paper)
Historically, health data was stored locally on the hospital's server as patient health records, and we had to rely on the planned check-up during doctor's visits. Now, we can monitor health continuously and in real-time. ...
