| Abstract | تدرس هذه المقالة “التقوى” كمفهوم أخلاقي مركزي في القرآن، ارتبطت به الأحكام العملية والمفهومات الأخلاقية الأخرى، وقد توزعت الدراسة على محورين، الأول دراسة لغوية للدلالة المعجمية لجذر المفهوم واشتقاقاته، واستعمالاته تاريخياً. والمحور الثاني دراسة سياقية دلالية تستقرئ الاستخدام القرآني لمفهوم “التقوى”، فتصف وتؤرخ حضوره في النص القرآني، مع مقارنة ذلك بفهم المفسرين لمعنى “التقوى” في الآيات. وتنتهي الدراسة إلى ضبط بؤرة المعنى اللغوي، والتي تربط “التقوى” بحصانة أخلاقية تجعل الإنسان على بصيرة تجنبه من الوقوع في الشر، مع أمل مؤكد بفلاح دنيوي ونجاة أخرو ية. فالتقوى حسب القرآن ملَكَةٌ تكوينية (من إلهام الله) في نفس الإنسان مشتركة بين جميع الخلق، سابقة على الوحي والتشريع، وهي معيار تفاضل الناس حتى بعد اكتمال التشريع، وجعلها القرآن جوهر التشريع وغاية التكليف. يبرز المقال أن مفهوم “التقوى” في القرآن يعبر عن الضمير الأخلاقي الفطري لدى الإنسان. |

| Alternative Abstract | This article provides an overview of the notion of taqwā as a central moral concept in the Qurʾān, to which practical rulings and moral precepts became connected. The study is divided into two parts: the first is a linguistic study of its meaning with special focus on the etymology of the concept, its derivatives, historical uses; the second part is a study of the significance of the concept in its various contexts in the Qurʾān taking into consideration its historical and semantic developments, as well as the exegetes’ understanding of taqwā in their commentaries on the term’s various occurrences. The article finally proposes a semantic etymology of the lexeme, which associates taqwā with “ethical immunity” that grants conscious insight preventing the moral agent form falling into moral evil. This consciousness is accompanied by the hope for worldly suc cess and salvation in the here-and-now and the Hereafter. Taqwā, according to the Qurʾān, is an innate trait (inspired by God) in the human essence, shared by all, which precedes revelation and religious rulings. It is the criterion of the merit of people even after the completion of revelation. The Qurʾān treats taqwā as the essence of legal rul ings and the objective of all moral obligations. This article shows that taqwā in the Qurʾān expresses an innate ethical conscience in human beings. |
