| Abstract | Corrosion damages and the importance of its prevention has been presented. An overview of previous research on Ni-B (and Ni-P) coatings has been presented. Synthesis and characterization of electrodeposited Ni-B and Ni-B-Y2O3 coatings has been presented. Addition of Y2O3 to Ni-B matrix results in Improvement in crystallinity. Increase in surface roughness. Improvement in mechanical properties (hardness and elastic modulus). Improvement of corrosion resistance. Conclusion: Ni-B-Y2O3 composite coatings are useful for high wear and corrosive applications. |
