Disability: interaction between long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments and various barriers hindering full and effective participation in society (UNCRPD)
Aim of CRPD:
Promote, protect and ensure full and equal enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms by all persons with disabilities
Promote respect for inherent dignity.
Qatar legal framework:
Conceives disability as a medical problem of the individual.
Special needs must be corrected, rectified or tempered by providing support
