Abstract | Epilepsy is a serious neurological disorder that affects millions of people worldwide, and timely response to seizures is crucial for minimizing their impact on patients' lives. To address this problem, we developed a wearable device comprising an epilepsy bracelet system. This project aimed to provide timely assistance to epilepsy patients through the development of an epilepsy bracelet and a mobile application. The bracelet detects seizures using sensors that monitor electrical activity in the muscles and heart rate. Once a seizure is detected, the mobile application alerts caregivers, providing them with crucial information about the patient's condition and location. To develop this solution, we leveraged Internet of Things (IoT) technology, drawing on previous studies and best practices. The project description provides a detailed overview of the bracelet's features and functionality, complemented by necessary diagrams. Our testing confirmed that the bracelet met our expectations, with data analysis revealing a correlation between faster electrical movement in the muscles and heart rate and increased frequency of seizures. |
