AbstractThis article deals with the synthetic strategies and applications of manganese selenide. Manganese selenide has been fabricated over the years with thermal evaporation at reduced pressure, solid state reactions, hydrothermal methods, chemical vapor deposition, pulsed laser deposition, electrodeposition and colloidal methods. Importance of manganese selenide has been put forth in supercapacitors, batteries, chemical sensing and thermoelectrics. All these experimental details and applications have been reviewed and compared with other metal chalcogenides, in this article.
