Karyotype of Palaemon khori (Decapoda:Palaemonidae)

Abstract

The diploid number and karyotype of the palaemonid shrimp Palaemon khori (Decapoda: Palaemonidae) were determined for the first time, presenting 2n = 96 and comprising 26 metacentric, 7 submetacentric, 12 subtelocentric and 3 telocentric chromosome pairs. Moreover, a review of the cytogenetic studies published, so far, in the Palaemoninae sub-family was also performed.
