| Abstract | الإنترنت هي شبكة الشبكات التي تتواصل عبرها الملايين من أجهزة الكمبيوتر وذلك لتبادل المعلومات بشتى أنواعها الرقمية والمرئية والسمعية أو حفظها واسترجاعها عند الطلب، ويعتبر استخدام الإنترنت في مجال التعليم العالي من الأمور الأساسية في العملية التعليمية، وذلك بتوفير خدمات اكثر شمولا من خلال التوسع في استخدامات الكمبيوتر وتقنية المعلومات. فعضو هيئة التدريس يستطيع من خلالها الدخول إلى المكتبات العالمية، ويطلع على الناتج الفكري للعلماء والباحثين وهو بمكتبه. فالإنترنت عبارة عن مستودع ضخم لا يحوي كتبا وأوراقا فقط، بل يحوي أيضا بيانات علمية ومحاضرات وتسجيلات الخ، مما يتيح للمستخدمين كما هائلا من المعرفة يصعب تخيله. تهدف هذه الدراسة الوصفية إلى إلقاء الضوء على خدمة الإنترنت (Internet) والتعريف بها لإرشاد أعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثين إلى كيفية الاستعانة بها في إعداد البحوث والدراسات في مختلف المجالات البحثية. من هذا المنطلق يمكن تحديد السؤال الرئيس للدراسة الحالية في السؤال التالي: ما واقع استخدام أعضاء هيئة التدريس بجامعة الملك فيصل لتطبيقات الإنترنت في البحث العلمي؟ اتبع الباحث المنهج المسحي الذي يعتبر مناسبا لطبيعة مثل هذه الدراسة التي تهتم بتقصي الآراء ومعرفة لاتجاهات. ويمثل المجتمع الأصلي لهذه الدراسة أعضاء هيئة التدريس والمحاضرين والمعيدين بجامعة الملك فيصل، والبالغ عددهم (345) فردا من الذكور والإناث موزعين على أربع كليات. وقد سحبت عينة عشوائية يقدر عددها بنحو (200) فردا، وقد بلغ عدد الاستبانات القابلة للتحليل (130)، أي ما نسبته (65 %) من الاستبانات الموزعة على العينة. وقد توصل الباحث للنتائج التالية: • معظم أفراد العينة يستخدمون الإنترنت أسبوعيا في البحث العلمي. • يرى الغالبية بان استخدام الإنترنت لغرض البحث العلمى مهم جدا. • أهم استخدامات الإنترنت تتمثل في البحث عن مصادر بحثية. • تؤكد نتائج الدراسة أن هناك اتجاها ايجابيا لأعضاء هيئة التدريس نحو استخدام الأنترنت في البحث العمي. . البحث من خلال استخدام الشبكة العنكبوتية WWW يمثل الطريقة الأولى في استخدام الأنترنت لغرض البحث العلمي. • استخدام أدوات بحثية Search Engines متنوعة يحتل المرتبة الأولى من طرق العثور على المعلومات من الإنترنت. • يمثل عدم توافر التدريب المناسب على استخدام الإنترنت أهم معوقات استخدام الإنترنت في البحث العلمي. . أشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى وجود فروق بين آراء أعضاء هيئة التدريس في مقدار استخدامهم للأنترنت في البحث العلمي تؤدى إلى متغير الكلية التي يصل بها عضو هيئة التدريس، والجنس، والرتبة العلمية، وامتلاك كمبيوتر بالمكتب، والاتصال بالإنترنت. . وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا بين آراء أعضاء هيئة التدريس في أهمية استخدامهم للأنترنت في البحث العلمي تعزي إلى الجنسية فقط. |

| Alternative Abstract | As a net which connects all nets, the Internet links millions of computers for the purpose of communicating digital, visual, audio information. The information can be transmitted, stored, searched for, and manipulated in many modes and ways. In pedagogical setting, comprehensive use of this service by adopting and extending the information technology, is paramount. From their offices, university staff members can brows through contents of major world libraries, the text of lectures, research projects, and other important sources of data. This paper aims at giving a descriptive statement about the Internet services at King Faisal University (KFU), and the use of this recent facility by staff members. The main question of this study can be, therefore, posed in the following form : What is the extent of resorting to the Internet in the process of preparing research works by KFU staff members? To answer this question, the researcher adopts the survey approach using a questionnaire to investigate staff members opinions and trends. The population of the study is (345) male and female staff members in four colleges. A random sample made up of (200) was selected for the study, and only (130) returned questionnaires were useable. The following main results have been obtained : The sample answers show that Internet is used at least once in a week, and that its use is considered important for research, and most importantly in bibliographical searches. The results show a positive attitude towards using the Internet for research purposes, and show the www to be the main method of using the Internet. The use of search engines comes first in looking for information. The most prominent problem is seen in the lack of training for ideal use of the Internet . The study shows that the differences in depending on the Internet among staff members are due to the following factors: the college where the member works, the academic position (rank), the availability of computing facilities (Internet link) in the office. Finally, it was found that there is a correlation between the opinion of staff member about the importance of the Internet and the nationality of the staff member. |
