Abstract© 2018 IEEE. In this paper, three-phase induction motor su by multilevel quasi impedance source inverter (qZSI) is contr with V/f technique. Application of pulse width amplitud modulation (PWAM) technique for controlling the multilevel is implemented. In PWAM, modulation index which is defin the ratio ofpeak of modulating signal to the peak of carrier sig always remains unity. Due to this, the voltage available at output of the inverter is not controlled in correspondence to V control during starting of induction motor. In this paper, a control algorithm is proposed which helps in achieving startin induction motor without starting current transients. Perfor of V/f-controlled induction motor drive obtained with diffe modulation techniques are compared by simulating the thre phase induction motor drive using Simulink Comparison of switching losses with these methods is also presented. Experi prototype of closed loop controlled three - phase seven - level is developed and tested with RL load.
