Abstract | Managing knowledge plays a significant role in the delivery of success in different organisations. Hospitality and hotels are not far from this. However, assessing the effectiveness of practicing knowledge management in hotels and despite vital for such sector, seems not deeply searched in some emerging economies such as the case of Qatar. This paper aims to fill in this void in the literature by developing and empirically analyse a model exploring if 'faults' exist while practicing knowledge management in hotels in Qatar. Such faults would result in gaps in knowledge which would seriously affect this industry. After examining results from more than 300 hotels in Qatar, findings show that discrepancies would be statistically significant while developing a knowledge management thematic strategy in the Qatari hotels. |
