AbstractIn this paper, we report the formation of VOPcPhO and P3HT composite nanostructures by spin-coating technique. Novel structural and morphological properties of the composite film have been observed at a specific volumetric ratio of VOPcPhO and P3HT. The non-uniform sized porous structure has been depicted uniformly over the whole thin film surface. The diameters of the larger pores are in the range of 700 nm, whereas the diameters of the sub-pores are in the range of 100-200 nm. The novel structural and morphological properties of the thin films made them very promising for humidity sensor application. Compared to individual materials based humidity sensors, improvement in the sensing parameters such as sensitivity, hysteresis, and response and recovery behavior of the composite film has been obtained.
