Abstract
Ibn Al-Farid's minor "Taa'iyah" poem stands as a testament to the poetry serving for non poetic purposes; where the poem is an embodiment of the mystic journey, and the volatility in the mystical standings and conditions. It is a psychological and emotional journey, based on the description of the situation of poor self statuses: Unity, and Distinction. Language has worked marvelously in it. The alliteration and counterpoint were the most corresponding arts, and deeply connected to the unity and distinction statuses, and expressed the suffered pain after the first unity, and nostalgic for the overall unity. The poem seems to have been built with an intentional growing structure, where the language shifts in line with the rise in self emotional ascension. 2016 University of Jordan. All rights reserved.
