Which replacement is better before or after a specified time for minimal repair models
Abstract
This paper compares the models of replacement first, replacement interval, replacement last and replacement overtime to decide which policy would be better before or after a specified time T in the viewpoint of cost saving. Minimal repair, which can return the unit to operation again after failure when the repair is completed, is modeled for respective policies. In order to save the total cost of repairs, preventive replacement policies are done at a planned time T and a number N of failures. It will be shown that the comparisons can be concluded according to the relative size of given T and obtained T∗ and T̃. © 2016, International Society of Science and Applied Technologies. Replacement policies for a parallel system with shortage and excess costs
Zhao, Xufeng; Chen, Mingchih; Nakagawa, Toshio ( Elsevier Ltd , 2016 , Article)It has been assumed in most maintenance models that (i) the number of units for a parallel system can be predefined precisely, (ii) maintenance cost after failure should be avoided, and (iii) age replacement can always be ... -
Three maintenances for age replacement policies
Zhao, Xufeng; Al-Khalifa, Khalifa N.; Qian, Cunhua; Nakagawa, Toshio ( International Society of Science and Applied Technologies , 2017 , Conference)Preventive replacement policy conducted at a routine time T* has been surveyed extensively in literatures. Another two random replacement times Y1 and Y2 are jointly considered in this paper. We formulate the models of ... -
Over-time and over-level replacement policies with random working cycles
Zhao, Xufeng; Nakagawa, Toshio ( Springer New York LLC , 2016 , Article)When a unit is running successive works with cycle times, it would be uneconomical or impractical to do maintenances during any working cycle. This paper firstly reviews two replacement models proposed in literatures as ...
