HOW TO ENHANCE THE RESILIANCE OF SURFACTANT SUPPLY CHAIN TO ENSURE THE CONTINUES PRODUCTION OF AL-SHAHEEN, DURING POLITICAL DISPUTES IN THE REGION
Abstract
This master's dissertation investigates the established supply chain of surfactant used in Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) activities in Al-Shaheen oil filed based of a pilot project conducted. It focuses on risks can rises from political disputes in the region specifically, potential blockade and trade exchange cutoff and repetitive Houthi attacks on petroleum targets in Saudi Arabia and United Arab of Emirates. Risk assessment conducted to visualize the likelihood and severity of each of the risk. Finally, it suggests QatarEnergy to expand Tawteen initiative to include enabling local surfactant producers to produce Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) surfactant and to build strategic reserve.
