الملخصThis research paper examines the legal protection of consumer rights at the time of the Corona pandemic (COVID-19) in the State of Qatar as a model to demonstrate the effectiveness of government efforts taken since the beginning of 2020. In a brief review of the legal framework, that governs the protection of consumer rights in Qatar; one finds that the Consumer Protection Law constitutes the main legislative framework that guarantees this protection. This law thoroughly defines the general rules pertaining to the consumer’s health, safety of goods and quality of services. The law is designed to protect the consumer from fraud and deceptive advertising, etc. I will advocate for forming specialized committees to settle consumer disputes, enhancing electronic consumer rights protections and strictly enforcing penalties in the event of a violation of consumer rights in these exceptional situations that we are facing and are struggling to overcome.
