AbstractIn this paper, statistical antenna approach is applied to develop an equivalent model for the fields generated by a fixed excitation inside a jet engine with dynamic rotating blade. The equivalent model is represented by a jet engine with static blade and a random excitation. A simplified jet engine, containing one set of 24 blades, is simulated for different excitation positions through full wave simulation analysis by, 'Ansys HFSS'. The field distribution inside the engine results from a randomly excited Hertzian dipole antenna is extracted and are studied upon different points, which are located on a circular plane along the engine axis. For each antenna position, we study specified blade position instead of analyzing the rotation effect of blade. The real and imaginary components of the electric field along the engine axis are extracted and analyzed statistically. Using a Gaussian distribution excitation, the field components are proved to have Gaussian distribution too at different points. For specified blade positions, the mean values for the field distribution are calculated. Most of the mean values are proved to have almost the same value trend independent of the blade position. This methodology provide a novel approach for analyzing the field distribution inside the jet engine by analyzing static jet blades and random source excitation with prespecified parameters. 2013 IEEE.
