Abstract | We address the route optimization problem for a nested mobile IPv6 NEtwork MObility (NEMO) environment. We propose an adaptive scheme which can optimize the routing process of the data communication, and minimize the end-to-end delay. The adaptive scheme consists of two sub-schemes: mobility-transparency sub-scheme and time-saving sub-scheme. The mobility-transparency sub-scheme performs well for the high mobility scenarios, while the time-saving sub-scheme performs well for the low mobility and large communication traffic scenarios. A threshold is used to determine which sub-scheme should be applied for the current situation. Theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can reduce the end-to-end delay of data communication for nested mobile IPv6 NEMO environment significantly. 2014 IFIP. |
