Abstract | Positron annihilation lifetime technique (PAL) has been applied to investigate the behavior of the free volume in pure and doped polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as a function of Pb concentration and temperature. It is noticed that the glass transition temperature T8 has been shifted to lower temperatures. This shift might explain the increase in the electrical conductivity. The dependence of the size and fractional free volume in PVC on temperature has been discussed on the basis of the free volume model. |
