Abstract | AI-XR metaverses leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and extended reality (XR) technology to create immersive environments that replicate and enhance the real world. The transformative impact of the metaverse as an advanced AI-XR platform is widely recognized in the realms of learning, economics, and social activities. However, integrating the meta-verse into our daily lives raises significant ethical and legal challenges. This paper provides a comprehensive examination of associated risks, including privacy and copyright violation, behavior modification, and surveillance. It explores existing methodologies and promising solutions to address these issues while identifying avenues for further research. In conclusion, the paper summarizes key findings and observations, underscoring the importance of a synergistic approach that combines technical and regulatory measures to safeguard the ethical and legal rights of users and co-creators, promoting the development of prosocial AI-XR metaverses. |
