AbstractContrast-associated acute kidney injury (CA-AKI) is a common issue in hospitals, especially in low-middle-income countries. This study investigated factors linked to CA-AKI in emergency department patients in Lebanon. The research analyzed data from 1832 patients who underwent contrast-enhanced CT scans, identifying risk factors such as age, comorbidities, and medications. Results showed that 10.4% of patients developed CA-AKI, with significant associations found for older age, high blood pressure, elevated respiratory rate, chronic kidney disease, and certain medications. These findings can help identify patients at lower risk of developing CA-AKI in emergency settings.
