الملخصWearable Wireless Networks (WWN) aim to provide attractive alternate for conventional medical care system. It is an effective way of monitoring patients within clinics, hospitals and remotely from home, offices etc. In this paper we extend the classical envisioned applications from medical health-care to rescue and critical applications for disaster and emergency management using WWN. There are number of challenges to effectively realize this application and several of those are presented in this paper along with various opportunities. We review multi-standard and multiple technologies based wearable wireless cognitive system for Device-to-Device (D2D) communication. Coexistence and inter-operability is one of the important challenges which are discussed along with utilization of possible technologies for on-body, body-to-body and off-body communications.
