AbstractThis work presented an energy hub with a residential integrated demand response model. A demand response program is utilized in the system to increase or decrease the loading demand in which residential consumers can be an active part of the energy system. This can be performed by shifting electrical appliances' consumption or changing the energy type they utilize; this is due to the integration of IoT devices. The control of residential appliances to contribute to the demand response program can be achieved using IoT devices. This supports the assumption that demand response limits in modeled energy hub can be treated as a value that varies over time (flexible demand response). GAMS software has been utilized to solve the energy hub model using Mixed Integer Linear Programming with a CPLEX solver. The results showed that fitting residential appliances with IoT devices increases the demand response, consequently, can save over 70% of the overall operating cost.
