| Abstract | هذا البحث يُعنى – وفق المنهج الاستقرائي والمنهج المقارن - بتتبع أقوال المفسرين في بيان مفهوم الضرب في آية سورة النساء، والوقوف على ضوابطه، ثم دراسة هذه الأقوال، ومعرفة أدلتها، والوقوف على أوجه الاتفاق والاختلاف بينهم، بُغْيَةَ استجلاء الأبعاد المقاصدية المتعلقة بالضرب عندهم. وقد خلص البحث إلى نتائج، من أهمها أن المفسرين قد اتفقوا – على الرغم من تنوع مناهجهم وتعدد اتجاهاتهم التفسيرية - على أن المقصود بالضرب في الآية هو حقيقته، بمدلوله الفعلي، ولكن بضابط لا ينفك عنه، وهو أن يكون غير مبرح، وترجح أن الأمور الواردة في الآية على وجه الترتيب، وأن الضرب الخفيف غير المبرح أهون من الوصول للطلاق الذي فيه هدم لكيان الأسرة، وأن المقصود من الضرب هو التأديب والصلاح، فإن غلب على الظن أن هذا لن يتحقق بالضرب غير المبرح فإنه لا ينبغي استعماله، وعلى الزوج أن يتأمل الأمر قبل إيقاعه، لهذا نبه بعض المفسرين على اختلاف أحوال النساء، ومن ثَم اختلاف ما ينفع في تأديبهن. |

| Alternative Abstract | This research, conducted according to inductive and comparative approach, delves into tracking of the statements of the Qur'anic interpreters elucidating the concept of 'hitting' as mentioned in the verse of Surah An-Nisa. It aims to establish the guidelines that regulates it, to study these statements, learn the evidences the statements are based on, and explore the points of agreement and disagreement among them. The research has yielded significant results, among which is how the exegetes agreed- despite the diversity in their methodologies and interpretive approaches - that the intended meaning of 'hitting' in the verse is its literal meaning (i.e., hitting). However, this is subject to a condition that never varies, that it must not be severe. The research suggests that the disciplinary punishment mentioned in the verse is in a hierarchical order, with mild and non-harsh hitting being preferable to resorting to divorce, since it would result in the destruction of the family entire existence. Moreover, the intention behind it is disciplining, so if most likely it will never be achieved by ‘hitting’ then it should not be used, and the husband should rethink before resorting to it. That is why some exegetes warned that women’s situations differ, hence the difference in ways of disciplining. |
