Entrepreneurial Education in the GCC: Review and Prospective Directions
Abstract
In the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, entrepreneurship education has emerged as a pivotal catalyst for driving economic diversification and promoting sustainable development. This chapter serves to synthesise the current body of literature on entrepreneurial education and tailor optimal models for integration into higher education institutions (HEIs) across the GCC. Through a comprehensive review of the current state of entrepreneurial education in the GCC, we aim to spotlight exemplary practices within public universities in the region. The ultimate objective is to put forth a holistic model for the design and implementation of effective entrepreneurial education within the GCC, and facilitate the transformation of higher education institutions into dynamic hubs of entrepreneurial learning, thus contributing to the region's economic diversification and sustainable development goals.
