| الملخص | يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة الفروق بين المعلمين المرشدين والمعلمين غير المرشدين في إدراكهم واتجاهاتهم وممارساتهم للعقاب، ولتحقيق ذلك. تم تطوير مقياس مؤلف من ستة مجالات تتمتع بالصدق والثبات. واستخدم اختبار (ز) Z test لتحليل البيانات. أظهرت النتائج أن هناك فروقاً ذات دلالة إحصائية بين المعلمين المرشدين وغير المرشدين في تصوراتهم، واتجاهاتهم وممارساتهم للعقاب، حيث كانت تصورات المعلمين المرشدين لبدائل العقاب أفضل من تصورات المعلمين غير المرشدين. كما كان المعلمون المرشدون أقل ممارسة له، واتجاهاتهم نحوه سلبية، ولم تتوصل النتائج الى فروق ذات دلالة بين المعلمين المرشدين والمعلمات المرشدات على معظم العبارات المتعلقة بالعقاب. |

| الملخص البديل | The Purpose of this study is to explore the differences between teacher counselloers and other teachers in cognition , practices and attitudes towards punishment. The sample of this study consists of (49) teacher counsellors (male & female) and (123) teacher selected from UNRWA schools. A specially designed questionnaire is used as a tool for data collection. The questionnaire consists of (34) items covering the following five domains : causes, aims, kinds, and consequences of punishment as well as alternatives and attitudes toward punishment. The results showed that teacher counsellors are more aware of punishment consequences, more over, they were more effective than other teachers in handling students problems; they also used to resort to punishment less frequently than other teachers. The findings did not show any significant differences between male and female teacher counsellors attitudes towards punishment; in other words, the in-service training course left the same effect on participants regardless of their sex. |
