AbstractThis paper proposes a novel sliding mode observer (SMO) to achieve the sliding mode observer (SMC) for a five-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) in wide speed range. The structure of the proposed SMO is described and its stability is proven in the context of Lyapunov theory. Simulated results are provided to prove the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
