AbstractThe demand for qualified national engineers is high in Qatar; Currently, a wide gap in supply exists. Consequently, urgent and proactive interventions at K-12 level to promote engineering profession to school students are required to increase the number of Qatari students who choose to study engineering. Since 2009, the College of Engineering at Qatar University is running the Life is Engineering Program (LIEP) as an outreach springboard program targeting the country high schools. This paper presents a reflection on the LIEP project, its organization, structure, and an assessment of its impact on high school students.
