Abstract | Recently, multiphase permanent magnet synchronous motor drives have gained attention in applications which require high reliability. The multiplication of phase number guarantee to the system to continue operating in post fault condition, under the loss of one or more phases, without additional hardware. Unlike three phase motor drives where the extra equipment is required. The control strategy in post fault should ensure torque pulsations free operation. This paper details the modifications in the vector control to allow post fault operation of five-phase PMSM under single open phase. Numerical simulations show a close conformity with the theoretical background. ? 2018 IEEE. |
