Alignment of IT/IS in business strategies and conceptual knowledge of employees: A case study of national planning commission of Namibia
Abstract
Adopting information technology or upgrading the existing technology being an expensive affair, thorough ground work involving all the staff is very much mandatory for successful expedite. As a step towards such process, NPC deployed a case study to know the conceptual knowledge of the employees regarding their awareness levels about the IT/IS strategies, business strategies of the organisation and the benefits of the strategies' alignment. So, the study is carried out by considering an unbiased sample of 62 staff recruited from all the departments. A structured study tool-questionnaire is designed and is shared with all the members in a purely random manner. The sample is framed in such a way that it is representative of the population and has at least 50% of the total employees. The data obtained from such sample through the questionnaire method served a plethora of information regarding the status of employee knowledge levels.
