| Abstract | أدت الحداثة إلى إحداث تبعية العالم الإسلامي فكريًا للغرب فيما ما يخص النظريات الاجتماعية. الفعل الإنساني (العمل) هو موضوع البحث في كل من الفقه وعلم الاجتماع الغربي (من بين كل تلك العلوم التي تحاول أن تطبّق المناهج التجريبية المستمدة من العلوم الطبيعية على نطاق المجتمع البشري، بما فيها التربية والقانون). وعلى الرغم من اختلافهما من نواح عديدة، فإنهما يمتدان على نطاقات فكرية متداخلة، فقد غزا علم الاجتماع بأشكاله المختلفة المجالَ الذي يحتله الفقه عادةً، وحلَّ ممثلوه المهنيون، كالأكاديميين والقانونيين والتربويين والكُتّاب، محلَّ الفقهاء. تشير هذه المقالة إلى النزاع الجدلي بين الفقه وعلم الاجتماع الغربي الذي شكل تاريخ الفكر الإسلامي منذ القرن التاسع عشر، وتكشف عن ذلك النزاع الكامن بضرب أمثلة من المفكرين العثمانيين المتأخرين، أمثال ضياء غوق ألب (Ziya Gökalp)، وسعيد حليم باشا(Said Halim Pasha)، وإسماعيل حقي الإزميري (İzmirli İsmail Hakki). وقد أحدث ذلك النزاع في الحالة العثمانية شقًّا جديدًا في المجتمع الفكري الإسلامي بين دعاة علم الاجتماع ودعاة الفقه. لكن الكثير من المفكرين، وحتى بعض الفقهاء، حاولوا أن يوجدوا توليفةً بين كلا المجالين. وبعد انهيار الإمبراطورية العثمانية تبنَّت الجمهورية التركية الحديثة سياسة التغريب بالجملة، والتي كان أحد عناصرها تبني علم الاجتماع الغربي ليحل محل الفقه في تفسير عمل الإنسان وأمره به. هذا التدخل في الحياة الفكرية زاد من تبعية المفكرين الأتراك المعاصرين للدولة، وهو وجه آخر من أوجه تبعيتهم التي تفصِّل فيها هذه المقالة. أدت المواجهة التي تزايدت في كثافتها بين الحضارتين الإسلامية والغربية خلال القرن التاسع عشر أخيرًا أيضًا إلى ربط الفقه وعلم الاجتماع الأوروبي بين المفكرين العثمانيين |

| Alternative Abstract | Modernization led to the intellectual dependency of the Muslim world on the West for social theories. Human action (amal) is the subject matter of both Islamic fiqh and Western social science (i.e. of all those sciences which attempt to apply empirical methods drawn from the natural sciences to the sphere of human society, including education and law). Though different in many aspects, both have a claim on widely overlapping intellectual territories. Social science in its different forms conquered the space traditionally occupied by fiqh, and its professional representatives (such as academicians, jurists, educationists, and writers) replaced the fuqaha. This article thus points to a dialectic tension between fiqh and Western social science which shaped Muslim intellectual history since the 19th century. This article unearths this latent tension by using the example of late Ottoman intellectuals as Ziya Gokalp, Said Halim Pasha and zmirli smail Hakk. In the Ottoman case it brought about a new cleavage in the Muslim intellectual community between advocates of social science and advocates of fiqh. Yet many intellectuals and even some fuqaha attempted a synthesis between both fields. After the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, the modern Turkish Republic adopted the policy of wholesale westernization, an element of which was the adoption of Western social science to replace fiqh in explaining and ordering human action. This intervention in the intellectual life increased the dependence of modern Turkish intellectuals on the state; which is another aspect of their intellectual dependency explored in this article. |
