Abstract | Variable frequency drives (VFDs) are an integral component of the industry these days. VFDs provide a wide range of control over equipment such as, electrical motors and generators, and can be integrated in several applications to meet the desired objectives of operation with high reliability and efficiency. This paper presents a twelve-pulse line commutated converter (LCC) drive system with a voltage source inverter for starting up and active power filtering in LNG applications. A Matlab/Simulink model has been built for a medium voltage LCC drive system to validate the proposed concept. 2016, Institution of Engineering and Technology. |
