Abstract | The thermodynamic and kinetic inhibition effectiveness of the selected amino acids (AA): L-Alanine, Glycine, L-Histidine, L-Phenylalanine and L-Asparagine have been tested on the pure methane gas at different concentrations (1-5wt%) and pressure range of 40-120 bars using the rocking cell assembly with and without the presence of synergents /additive compounds such as polyethylene oxide (PEO) and Caprolactum (VCAP). The experimental results indicate that the selected AA perform better as a kinetic hydrate inhibitor (KHI) and the addition of PEO with these AA help to improve their KI effectiveness significantly. |
