الملخص | The emergence of nanotechnology has revolutionized modern life due to its diverse applications in healthcare, agriculture, the environment, and other technological applications. Growing concerns over the toxicity of nanomaterials generated using physicochemical approaches has limited the application potential of nanotechnology. Plant-mediated synthesis (phytosynthesis) of nanoparticles is an ecofriendly and safe method to produce more biologically compatible nanoparticles. The application of plant extracts as reducing agents will minimize the use of harmful chemicals for nanoparticle synthesis. An increasingly common application of phytonanoparticles is their use as antimicrobial agents in coatings, textiles, wound dressings, and biomedical devices. They are also used as mosquito larvicide and for degrading organic dyes from textile effluent. The specific plant used for the synthesis process plays a pivotal role as it influences the properties of the resultant nanoparticles. This chapter mainly focuses on various applications and the importance of phytosynthesized nanoparticles in various fields. |
