AbstractA new generation of advanced information technologies are used nowadays by healthcare systems to provide access to affordable and high-quality healthcare services. However, such services, generally require a large amount of data that needs to be stored, shared and secured efficiently. Therefore, a secure distributed data storing and sharing mechanism is proposed in this paper for healthcare systems. By using a specifically designed data splitting and encryption approach, the proposed sharing mechanism ensures that any user in the network can recuperate the data only if it gets the approval of a prefixed number of trusted nodes. This ensure that although the data is distributed among different network nodes, it becomes useless without the collection of the necessary data parts and approvals. In order to enhance the data sharing robustness to failures while minimizing the transmission delays, and satisfying the network constraints, an iterative algorithm is proposed to optimize the selection of the nodes that should participate in the data storage process. The simulation results confirm the efficiency of the proposed approaches to efficiently and securely store and share the data with the other legitimate nodes. 2022 IEEE.
