AbstractAll six countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have developed science and mathematics curriculum standards that focus on the content essential for preparing students to be engaged and productive citizens. A careful review of the well-developed standards in all six countries reveals a strong emphasis on the fundamental elements of critical thinking, enquiry and reasoning in all grades to ensure that students develop the ability to work creatively, think analytically and solve problems.
