Abstract | © 2016 IEEE. Governments utilized mobile technologies and wireless infrastructure to facilitate the provision of governmental services. The success of such initiative depends on citizens' adoption, which is influenced by more than one factor. This research tested a model for predicting the intention to use SMS services provided by governments. The major proposed predictors are perceived usefulness, subjective norms, perceived ease of use, self-efficacy, as well as trust. A quantitative research was conducted, where 400 surveys were distributed to collect the research data. 386 of them were returned and analyzed. Results indicated that all proposed factors were significant predictors of the intention to use SMS services. Unfortunately, subjective norm failed to be a significant predictor of intentions. The last section includes research conclusions and future work. |
