Abstract | Nearly all metals and alloys are unstable (i.e., have high Gibb's free energy) and are predisposed to reach stable equilibrium state by the route of corrosion. Thus, there is an urgent requirement of high strength (and thus light weight) and corrosion resistant materials in everyday life and industrial applications. The research and development of such materials have a significant potential for lowering the overall energy usage, improving sustainability and enhancing reliability of the engineered items. The High Entropy Alloys (HEAs) is a novel category of multi-component alloy systems which was introduced in 2004 to the scientific community [1],[2]. In this work, the effect of different heat treatments on superior Mechanical Properties and Corrosion Characteristics of non-equiatomic NiCoCrNbAl-based HEA has been studied. The study conducted for electrochemical response in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution (aerated) at room temperature. |
