| Abstract | هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن مدى فعالية برنامج تأهيل معلمي اللغة الإنجليزية في جامعة موتة. ولغرض تحقيق أهداف البحث، صممت أداة من 18 فقرة وفقا لمقياس ليكرت الخماسي، وتم تطبيقها على جملة بلغ عدد أفرادها "45" طالبا وطلبة من طلبة التأهيل في فصل التخرج أو من المتوقع تخرجهم على الفصل الصيفي للعام الدراسي 2000/ 2001 م وتراوحت خبراتهم الفعلية بين 6- 9 سنوات. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن برنامج التأهيل يعاني من مجموعة نقاط قصور تمثلت في سوء التخطيط والتنفيذ، وعدم مواكبة البرنامج لتطور المناهج المدرسية وعدم تحفيز البرنامج للمعلمين للتأليف والنشر، وعدم رضاً المشاركين في البرنامج، إضافة إلى وجود فجوة كبيرة بين النظرية والتطبيق. ومع ذلك فإن النتائج أشارت إلى أن أفراد الدراسة أكدوا وجود بعض الإيجابيات نتيجة التحاقهم ببرنامج التأهيل مثل الرفع من القدرات التعليمية وتلبية حاجاتهم وتميزهم عن أمرهم من زملاءهم. وأخيرا خرج البحث بمجموعة من التوصيات لمعالجة الموضوع برمته. |

| Alternative Abstract | This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of the English language teachers' certification program at Mutah University. To achieve the aims of the study a questionnaire of 18 items has been designed. The sample of the study comprised 45 students who are expected to be graduated by the summer semester 2000-2001, whom their experience in the Ministry of Education ranged between 6-9 years. The results of the study revealed that the program has many deficits in planning and implementing and the insufficiency of following up with the new developments of the curricula. Results also pointed to the gap between theory and practice. Even though, the results of the study showed that the program has met some of the learner's cognitive needs, as well as, it distinguished them compared to their colleagues. Finally, the researcher presented some recommendations and suggestions . |
