| Abstract | تبين هذه الدراسة أن العلاقات المعاصرة بين تركيا وأقطار الخليج العربي ظهرت متأخرة لأسباب تاريخية وسياسية واقتصادية. وبدأت تركيا في الستينيات تولي اهتمامها نحو الوطن العربي نتيجة للمواقف الصبة التي مرت بها أثناء الأزمة القبرصية الأولى عام 1963-1964. وقد واجهت تركيا صدا من غالبية الأقطار العربية باستثناء المملكة العربية السعودية التي تعد من أولى الأقطار العربية الخليجية التي تقيم علاقات طيبة مع تركيا ، وقد بلغت هذه العلاقات مستويات متطورة في العقدين الأخيرين وارتكزت على جوانب سياسية واقتصادية وعسكرية، وكذلك في مجال الاستثمارات وتوظيف رؤوس الأموال السعودية في تركيا ، كما حققت تركيا في سنوات الحرب العراقية - الإيرانية ( 01980-1988) ، وكذلك في أحداث حرب الخليج 1991 م ، طفرة نوعية في علاقاتها تلك بسبب انسجام تركيا في سياستها ومواقفها مع المصالح السعودية في المنطقة . وتسعى تركيا من خلال علاقاتها المتطورة مع المملكة العربية السعودية وأقطار الخليج العربي الأخرى تطوير اقتصادها الوطني وسد احتياجاتها النفطية . |

| Alternative Abstract | The present paper examines Turkey's relations with the Arab Gulf countries and explains how historical, political and economic factors delayed the establishment of these relations. In the sixties, Turkey tried to maintain close relations with the Arab Homeland following the 1963-1964 crisis in Cyprus. The majority of the Arab countries, with the exception of Saudi Arabia, did not respond positively to the Turkish move. Saudi Arabia may be described as the first Arab Gulf State to establish good relations with Turkey. The two countries succeeded in maintaining and promoting political, economic, and military relations and in investing Saudi capital in the past two decades. Turkish - Saudi relations took a turn for the better during the Iraq - Iran War (1980-1988) and the Gulf War of 1991. This may be attributed to the fact the Turkey's political views and stand were in harmony with Saudi interests in the region. Through its relations with Saudi Arabia and the other Arab Gulf States, Turkey is seeking ways and means to consolidate its national economy and meet its own oil needs. |
